Standing at the threshold of the new year and looking back on 2024, we have, with the courage to forge ahead, the confidence to strive, and the determination to act, written a new chapter in the development of Nanjing Zijin Hospital.
On the afternoon of January 10, Nanjing Zijin Hospital successfully held its 2024 Annual Work Summary and Awards Ceremony.

Looking back on 2024, looking ahead to 2025

“With utmost sincerity and benevolence, and a compassionate heart that reaches far, your recovery stands as a testament to our shared aspirations…” Accompanied by the melodious and heartfelt anthem of Nanjing Zijin Hospital, the conference officially commenced under the chairmanship of Executive Vice President Gao Zhiqiang.

At the outset of the conference, Dean Ge Jiangping delivered a more than one-hour summary report on the hospital’s work for 2024. The report provided a comprehensive and in-depth overview of the hospital’s achievements over the past year across numerous areas, including clinical care, Party building and brand development, medical quality management, dual‑evaluation initiatives, academic research and teaching, talent cultivation and management, service‑quality enhancement, safety and fire‑prevention measures, pharmaceutical and medical‑device management, infection control, infrastructure and information‑technology development, as well as medical insurance administration.

Dean Ge commended the dedicated efforts of colleagues across all departments. From frontline clinical diagnosis and treatment to the robust support provided by other units, we have established sound systems, formulated rigorous standards, and ensured their effective implementation. Upholding our original commitment to safeguarding patients’ health and honoring our pledge of ethical medical practice, we have substantially enhanced both the quality and safety of care, earning high satisfaction among patients and their families. At the same time, through training programs, advanced studies, competitions, continuing‑education initiatives, and the launch of multi‑center research projects, we have strengthened our talent pool, bolstered our capacity for scientific innovation, and elevated our clinical expertise. These efforts have not only refined the quality of our services and provided a platform for staff development and personal fulfillment but have also contributed meaningfully to advancing the cause of rehabilitation medicine.

Remarkable achievements inspire us to forge ahead, while thoughtful self-reflection empowers us with wisdom and strength. Looking to the future, Dean Ge, drawing on the accomplishments of 2024 and the challenges that remain, outlined in detail the development plan for 2025, proposing twelve key initiatives spanning talent development, organizational management, information technology advancement, and the organization of academic conferences and events. These efforts paint a new vision for every member of Ziyi University and chart a clear course for our collective journey in 2025.

2025 Work Plans of Department Heads

Following the presentation of the annual work summary report, the four department directors—Liu Yafeng, Wang Changbao, Hong Ming, and Xiao Feng—who also serve as assistant deans, along with Zhang Jianping, deputy director of the Nursing Department (acting in charge), each delivered statements outlining their plans for 2025.

Liu Yafeng, Assistant to the Dean and Regional Director of the Jiangning Campus

Director Liu Yafeng outlined the 2025 work plan across six key areas: talent development and training; refined management of hospital campuses; strengthening academic research and facilitating the translation of research findings into clinical practice; enhancing collaboration within medical consortiums to build a diversified healthcare service system; improving patient‑centered assessments of individual differences and developing personalized rehabilitation plans; and continuing to advance the development of subspecialties. He expressed confidence that, in the new year and on this fresh journey, all staff will approach their work with renewed enthusiasm and unwavering resolve, further elevating the quality of care and bringing the good news of recovery to more families.

Wang Changbao, Assistant to the Dean and Regional Director of the Qinhuai Campus

Director Wang Changbao described 2024 as “an extraordinary and profoundly meaningful year,” expressing his heartfelt gratitude to every staff member for the comprehensive renovation of the Qinhuai Campus’s clinical environment and for the significant achievements made in medical quality control. He then emphasized that in 2025, the hospital will strengthen the development of subspecialties, further implement robust quality‑control systems, advance payment reform to balance patient rights with institutional growth, and encourage the translation of academic and research findings into tangible contributions to healthcare. Finally, he pledged to work hand in hand with every member of the Qinhuai Campus team, striving together for the hospital’s continued progress and for the health of its patients.

Director Hong Ming, Assistant to the Dean

As the head of several key departments—including the Medical Insurance Office, the Information Department, the Finance Department, and Logistics Support—Director Hong Ming shared with us his comprehensive work plan. From precisely implementing medical insurance policies and proactively expanding healthcare resources to fully safeguarding information security, effectively integrating data to support efficient management decision-making, and further advancing the development of a smart rehabilitation hospital; from ensuring the seamless operation of medical equipment to meticulously creating a high‑quality clinical environment, every step of this plan is designed to provide frontline healthcare professionals with a robust support system, offering all‑round, worry‑free assurance.

Director Xiao Feng stated that the Medical Affairs Department will integrate, with even greater resolve, into the hospital’s 12 priority initiatives for 2025, employing stricter standards, more meticulous monitoring, and a more comprehensive system to ensure the steady enhancement of medical quality across all dimensions. She further emphasized that the Medical Affairs Department is committed to forging closer collaborative ties with clinical departments, identifying potential risks, and jointly building a robust safety framework, thereby providing strong safeguards for both medical quality and patient safety.

Deputy Director of the Nursing Department (in charge of daily operations), Zhang Jianping

Zhang Jianping, Deputy Director of the Nursing Department (in charge of daily operations), presented the department’s 2025 work plan, focusing on four core areas: 1) strengthening humanistic care and enhancing professional competence; 2) establishing education and outreach programs for rehabilitation nursing techniques to build a specialized nursing brand; 3) reinforcing nursing team development and fostering a research‑oriented culture; and 4) improving nursing quality and ensuring patient safety. Director Zhang not only outlined broad strategic directions but also translated these plans into specific performance metrics, emphasizing that the nursing team in 2025 will prioritize solidifying foundational practices, driving continuous innovation, and further advancing precision‑based management to deliver even higher‑quality care to patients.

At the conclusion of the meeting, Vice President Wang Yifang read out the “Decision of Nanjing Zijin Hospital on Commending Outstanding Units and Individuals for 2024.”

As we step into 2025, Nanjing Zijin Hospital will embrace new opportunities and face fresh challenges, signaling that we must shoulder even greater responsibilities and missions. We are keenly aware that the road ahead is long and arduous, yet we possess fearless courage and unwavering conviction. To quote General Secretary Xi Jinping’s New Year message for 2025: “Though dreams may seem distant, they can be reached through pursuit; though aspirations may be daunting, they can be fulfilled through perseverance.” Let us join hands and forge ahead, setting out toward the new year!
