On May 21, a signing ceremony marking the collaboration between Nanjing Zijin Hospital and Nanjing Yuzhi School was successfully held at the Qinhuai Campus. Wang Yifang, Executive Vice President of Nanjing Zijin Hospital, led the hospital’s management team in warmly welcoming Principal Wang Shuqin and her delegation from Yuzhi School. They were escorted on a tour of the hospital’s key clinical areas, including the hyperbaric oxygen chamber, the weaning center, and the pediatric rehabilitation hall, and also visited several hospitalized child patients to offer comfort and learn about their rehabilitation progress and living conditions.

Subsequently, the two sides held a symposium in the fourth-floor conference room. Ge Jiangping, President of Nanjing Zijin Hospital, provided a detailed overview to Principal Wang Shuqin and her delegation from Nanjing Yuzhi School, outlining the hospital’s development trajectory, its discipline-building efforts, and its technological strengths in areas such as pediatric neurorehabilitation and critical-care rehabilitation.

The two sides engaged in an in-depth exchange on special education, child rehabilitation, and the “medical–educational integration” model, with a particular focus on how to effectively integrate medical‑rehabilitation resources with special‑education resources, promote coordinated interventions between rehabilitation therapy and academic instruction, and address the practical challenges faced by children with special needs in bridging rehabilitation and education. Both parties agreed that they should leverage their respective professional strengths, strengthen mutual empowerment, and work together to provide continuous, systematic, and precision‑oriented rehabilitation and educational support for children with special needs and those with severe conditions, thereby genuinely enhancing the health and well-being of the people.

Following the symposium, the two parties formally signed a cooperation agreement. Under the agreement, they will engage in comprehensive collaboration across multiple areas, including rehabilitation and diagnostic guidance, personalized instruction, teacher training, psychological counseling, and the joint development of growth‑tracking records, thereby jointly advancing the integrated development of rehabilitation and education for children with special needs and those with severe conditions.

This signing marks another concrete step taken by Nanjing Zijin Hospital to fulfill its social responsibility and show care for children with special needs. The hospital will seize this opportunity to further strengthen collaboration between medical care and education, thereby supporting the integrated development of pediatric rehabilitation and education.
