On the afternoon of October 12, Nanjing Zijin Hospital hosted the second session of the Rehabilitation Subspecialty Development Symposium in the third-floor conference room of its Qinhuai campus. The meeting aimed to further advance the hospital’s rehabilitation subspecialties and enhance the quality and standards of rehabilitation care. Hospital leaders, heads and representatives from all clinical departments, along with the directors of the nursing, pharmacy, and integrated media branding divisions, gathered to pool their insights and propose strategies for the development and strengthening of the rehabilitation subspecialties.

The meeting was chaired by Gao Zhiqiang, Executive Vice President of Nanjing Zijin Hospital. President Ge Jiangping began by briefly reviewing the development of the hospital’s rehabilitation subspecialty, emphasizing that its establishment is an integral part of the hospital’s growth and a key factor in enhancing the institution’s overall strength and service quality.

During the meeting, representatives from each ward presented comprehensive and in-depth reports on the development strategies for several subspecialties, including musculoskeletal rehabilitation, cardiopulmonary rehabilitation, spinal cord injury rehabilitation, geriatric rehabilitation, and traditional Chinese medicine–based rehabilitation.

They not only provided a detailed analysis of the progress and current status of these subspecialties both domestically and internationally, but also presented and discussed in depth the department’s present development, the challenges it faces, and its future directions. In addition, each ward put forward specific and comprehensive plans and prospects regarding talent pipeline development, the acquisition of cutting-edge high‑tech medical equipment, and the formulation of research agendas.

During the discussion session of the conference, participants actively voiced their views and engaged in deliberations on pressing and challenging issues in the development of rehabilitation subspecialties.

Finally, Dean Ge Jiangping summarized the meeting. She fully commended the achievements attained and acknowledged the active participation and valuable contributions of all attendees. She emphasized that developing the rehabilitation subspecialty is both an urgent and challenging undertaking, requiring the concerted efforts and ongoing innovation of all healthcare professionals. She urged everyone to continue upholding the spirit of unity, collaboration, and relentless progress, thereby contributing their utmost to the advancement of the hospital’s rehabilitation subspecialty.

The successful convening of this conference not only provided valuable insights and guidance for the development and advancement of the rehabilitation subspecialty at Nanjing Zijin Hospital, but also established a platform for participants to exchange knowledge, learn from one another, and achieve mutual growth.
