On April 29, 2024, Nanjing Zijin Hospital held an awards ceremony at its Jiangning campus to recognize the “Top Ten Employees for Dedication and Professionalism.” Following departmental nominations and a comprehensive hospital-wide selection process, the following ten outstanding employees were chosen:

Wu Yuting, Qian Panpan, Zhang Jing, Geng Xiaowan, Ji Hong

Sun Longlong, Sun Yuqing, Zhao Chuanlan, Zhang Rui, Lu Jiayi

Wu Yuting, an accountant, has worked at Nanjing Zijin Hospital for more than four years.

In her billing duties, she is conscientious and responsible, maintains a friendly demeanor, uses polite language, and provides patient explanations.

She stays abreast of policies related to employee medical insurance, resident medical insurance, and out-of-town medical treatment, and ensures that medical insurance patients receive appropriate care in accordance with regulations.

Patiently explained the out-of-town medical insurance registration policy to the family members and assisted them in completing the registration, earning their praise and gratitude.

In recent years, whenever there has been a need to process a large volume of discharge settlement procedures—such as switching to the local medical insurance DRG payment system, transitioning to the national medical insurance scheme, or upgrading to a tertiary hospital—her busy presence has always been evident.

Qian Panpan, a nurse, has worked at Nanjing Zijin Hospital for three and a half years.

She is a cheerful nurse who always wears a smile at work—whether she’s entering a patient’s room, administering treatment, or simply taking a break between shifts. Whenever she’s with patients, she greets them with a warm, smiling face and patiently answers all their questions, never showing the slightest sign of impatience.

In the department, I serve as a nursing quality‑control officer, diligently and conscientiously supporting the head nurse’s work and ensuring that all care‑extension initiatives developed by the medical, nursing, and rehabilitation teams are completed on time and to the required standard.

Zhang Jing, a nurse, has worked at Nanjing Zijin Hospital for more than five years.

Her professional expertise is impeccable, and she has long served as a preceptor in her department.

During the course of nursing care, she is able to accurately assess the patient’s condition and implement appropriate nursing interventions, ensuring that patients receive timely and effective treatment.

The care provided to patients is meticulous and thorough, addressing not only their medical condition but also their psychological needs. The healthcare provider establishes a strong rapport with patients, offering empathy and reassurance, thereby fostering a sense of warmth and trust.

Geng Xiaowan, an ICU nurse, has worked at Nanjing Zijin Hospital for three years.

She can no longer recall how many critically ill patients she has welcomed, how many she has cared for, or how many times she and the doctors and rehabilitation therapists have successfully pulled them back from the brink of death.

She is fully aware that, in her work, she must closely monitor the vital signs and any sudden changes in critically ill patients, exercising both boldness and meticulous care while remaining ever‑on‑guard—always striving to ensure that each patient’s condition improves enough for transfer to a regular ward and eventual discharge.

Dr. Ji Hong has worked at Nanjing Zijin Hospital for two years.

She is a microcosm of many young physicians, approaching patients, their families, and her work with the utmost passion and sincerity. Looking ahead, she will remain grounded and forge ahead with determination, anticipating patients’ needs, addressing their urgent concerns, sharing their worries, and easing their difficulties—striving to be a doctor who embodies warmth and compassion.

Sun Longlong, a transfer‑car driver, has worked at Nanjing Zijin Hospital for seven years.

Since taking on the role of a referral‑transport driver, he has always upheld the principle that “the mission is an order.” Over the years, he has braved wind and rain, often losing track of his meal times. Yet he never complains; maintaining a clear head and getting patients to their destinations promptly and safely is both his inescapable duty and his unwavering goal.

Sun Yuqing, a nurse, has worked at Nanjing Zijin Hospital for more than four years.

Throughout her career, she has consistently demonstrated initiative and enthusiasm, providing warm, attentive service. She adheres to the “Five Actives” in patient interactions: proactively rising to greet patients, offering assistance, extending a welcome, introducing herself, and giving a thorough admission briefing. In her patient consultations, she patiently explains matters while upholding the “Three No’s”: never responding to inquiries with “I don’t know,” never saying “no” to requests that can be accommodated, and never dismissing a patient’s concerns as “nothing serious.”

Always patient-centered, with everything geared toward serving the patient.

Zhao Chuanlan, a nurse, has worked at Nanjing Zijin Hospital for more than 11 years.

Since assuming the roles of departmental quality control officer and head nurse, she has frequently worked overtime, proactively sacrificing her personal time to review medical records, identify issues, determine their root causes, and thereby reduce the error rate in nursing documentation.

At work, she approaches every patient with solid nursing skills and a sincere attitude. Seeing her patients in the ward progress—from a vegetative state to regaining even the slightest awareness, or from complete immobility to gradually being able to lift their limbs, and eventually walking and being discharged in recovery—is her greatest source of motivation.

Zhang Rui is a rehabilitation therapist who has worked at Nanjing Zijin Hospital for more than four years.

In 2019, I began my internship in the hospital’s rehabilitation department and was subsequently hired on a permanent basis.

“Great ceremonies do not shy away from small courtesies; details determine success or failure.” In her work, she pays close attention to the finer points, continuously honing her professional expertise and dedicating herself to helping patients recover as soon as possible.

Lu Jiayi, a rehabilitation therapist, has been working at Nanjing Zijin Hospital for nearly two years.

As a Party member, she always keeps in mind the need to set an exemplary and leading example.

She possesses a strong sense of responsibility and an unwavering drive for self-improvement. She empathizes with patients’ concerns, shares their anxieties, and anticipates their needs, always upholding the principle of “a physician’s heart is like that of a parent.” She treats every patient with fairness and places the safety of their lives and their speedy recovery above all else.

As she presented the awards, the hospital director also expressed her hope that the honored staff would continue to set an exemplary standard and inspire their colleagues. She encouraged all medical, nursing, and technical personnel across the hospital to take them as role models, work with dedication, and contribute even greater wisdom and strength to the hospital’s continued growth. May we join forces to build an even brighter future.
