On the afternoon of April 24, in order to comprehensively enhance the quality of medical services, our hospital invited experts from Jiangsu Provincial People’s Hospital to deliver a special lecture on “Medical Quality Control, Doctor–Patient Communication, and Medical Insurance.” The lecture was conducted in a hybrid format, with participants at both hospital campuses attending simultaneously.
First, Huang Yaxin, Deputy Director of the Medical Insurance Department at Jiangsu Provincial People’s Hospital, delivered a lecture. Drawing on the hospital’s achievements in medical insurance over the years, he shared his experiences and insights across several key areas, including the historical context of medical insurance development, the reform of the DRG payment system, the enhancement of the hospital’s medical insurance informationization, and the construction of a robust medical insurance platform.
Ma Yuxiang, Head of the Quality Section at the Quality Management Department of Jiangsu Provincial People’s Hospital, delivered a lecture on medical quality control. She shared insights into the institutional framework and practical outcomes of quality‑control management, covering policy and regulatory requirements, prescription‑quality management, quality assessment, clinical laboratory‑testing quality management, and blood‑glucose‑meter quality‑control practices. Her discussion of a three‑tiered quality‑control model—pre‑event, process‑level, and end‑of‑process—encouraged attendees to emphasize attention to detail and scientific rigor in their future quality‑control efforts, thereby driving continuous quality improvement.
Zhang Tao, Deputy Director of the Medical Affairs Department at Jiangsu Provincial People’s Hospital and Vice President of the Yifu Hospital affiliated with Nanjing Medical University, delivered a lecture on doctor–patient communication. Drawing on real‑world cases of medical disputes, he systematically addressed three key areas—medical informed consent, privacy and personal data protection, and patient safety and communication—providing a detailed overview of best practices and effective communication strategies. His presentation on the implementation and outcomes of third‑party witnessing during preoperative consultations further underscored the critical importance of institutional protocols and humanistic care in doctor–patient interactions, offering valuable insights and practical guidance to the attendees.
At this special lecture on “Medical Quality Control, Doctor–Patient Communication, and Health Insurance,” three experts generously shared their expertise, standardized protocols, and practical insights, yielding significant benefits for our hospital’s medical staff and the relevant departments.
