When you think of a rehabilitation hospital, what’s the first thing that comes to mind?
Is it the hurried rehabilitation therapists and the various cold, impersonal rehabilitation devices?
Is it the rhythmic pressurization sounds emitted by the hyperbaric oxygen chamber?

For as long as we can remember, hospitals have always seemed to us like places that are serious, composed, and even tinged with a certain sense of “pain.”

But today, we’d like to introduce you to two little ones. We hope their soft and adorable appearances will bring you a bit of healing and warmth.

“Quack, keep up the good work with today’s rehabilitation training (duck)!”

Did you know? Rehabilitation is often a long “marathon.” Whether it’s an elderly person relearning to walk after an injury or a young adult striving to regain function following an accident, every drop of their sweat demands immense perseverance.

This little blue duck draws its inspiration from the “Cheer Up Duck,” and of course, Nanjing and ducks share a deep, inseparable bond… It also incorporates the cyan hue from the visual identity of Nanjing’s Zijin Hospital. With its wings spread wide and its beak slightly open, it seems to be cheering on patients: “Hey, don’t worry—though we may wobble a bit, we’re still moving forward!”

We want it to convey to every patient and family undergoing rehabilitation: the recovery process may seem like a duck gliding smoothly on the water—calm on the surface, yet tirelessly striving beneath. Take it one step at a time; you will surely make it to shore.

“May you enjoy both fortune and prosperity, and may your journey be filled with peace and safety.”

In traditional Chinese culture, the deer symbolizes both fortune and official rank, as well as longevity and good health; thus, the “auspicious deer” was born.

It is gentle and lively, with a pair of tender, big eyes, clad in a white coat, standing on plum blossoms, and its bangs feature the hospital’s signature motif—a simple sketch of a brain. We designed it to be delightfully cute, hoping it would become a lucky charm symbolizing prosperity and good fortune.

It embodies not only the auspicious meaning of “good fortune,” but also the most heartfelt wish of all medical professionals: no matter how tumultuous the world may be, I only hope that you journey safely and enjoy robust health.

We have always believed that medicine is not merely a drug contained in a bottle, but rather a beacon of healing for the human heart.

If medicine can cure illness, then why can’t “love” and “companionship” do the same?

Therefore, the hospital mobilized all its staff to participate in the mascot design process and ultimately selected these two little characters from among numerous sketches.

Now, they’ve evolved from mere design sketches into adorable plush toys, and in the future, they’ll give rise to even more merchandise, eagerly appearing before everyone.

For children, , they are medals for perseverance in recovery;

For adults , they are a gentle solace in moments of weariness;

For the elderly, , they are companions on the “Safe Journey” path.

In short, these two little ones have officially been registered at Nanjing Zijin Hospital!

They may appear in the rehabilitation hall to accompany you during your training,

You may be monitored in a hyperbaric oxygen chamber as you recover.

It can also be given as a special gift to the person who needs encouragement the most.
