The summer charm of Jinling lingers, and the echoes of this grand gathering still resonate. At the 2025 Zijinshan Brain Science Summit—whose theme was “New Dimensions of the Brain, Crafting a New Era”—which recently concluded successfully in Nanjing, the dazzling brilliance of cutting-edge brain science and the innovative dynamism of medical–engineering convergence shone in tandem. The summit brought together world‑leading expertise, delving into the immense potential of frontier technologies such as brain–machine interfaces for clinical translation and disease treatment.

During the summit, as the leading institution of the Eastern Regional Neurosurgery Specialist Alliance of the Joint Logistics Support Force, the Department of Neurosurgery at the Eastern Theater Command General Hospital solemnly held the unveiling ceremony for the “Brain–Computer Interface Clinical Research Ward,” marking a solid and pivotal step forward in the field of clinical applications of brain–computer interfaces. At the same time, the alliance expanded further, with 14 new member institutions—including our hospital, Nanjing Zijin Hospital—joining to form an Eastern Regional Neurosurgery Collaborative Network that is both broader in scope and stronger in capability.
