Spring tides surge, and all things are renewed.

On March 6, 2025, the inaugural ceremony marking the establishment of four specialized centers under the sub‑specialty development initiative at Nanjing Zijin Hospital was successfully held at the Jiangning Campus. With the theme “Focusing on Sub‑Specialties, Building the Rehabilitation Dream Together,” the event saw the official unveiling of four new centers: the Qinhuai Awakening Promotion Center within the Department of Neurological Rehabilitation, the Jiangning Awakening Promotion Center within the same department, the Cardiopulmonary Rehabilitation Center in the Department of Cardiopulmonary Rehabilitation, and the Ventilator Weaning Center in the Department of Critical Care Medicine.

The conference was chaired by Gao Zhiqiang, Executive Vice President of Nanjing Zijin Hospital, and was attended by hospital leadership, heads of all departments, and medical staff representatives.

At the outset of the meeting, Wang Yifang, Vice President of Nanjing Zijin Hospital, read out the appointment announcement for the subspecialties, formally designating the heads of each center and subspecialty:

Director of the Qinhuai Awakening Promotion Center, Department of Neurological Rehabilitation, Gao Jirong

Director of the Cardiopulmonary Rehabilitation Center, Department of Cardiopulmonary Rehabilitation, Wang Guoxing

The four center directors and the heads of subspecialties took to the stage one by one to deliver statements. They began by expressing their heartfelt gratitude for the strong support of the hospital leadership. All unanimously emphasized that the establishment of these four centers builds on Nanjing Zijin Hospital’s 38 years of rehabilitation expertise, while also undertaking the mission of pioneering new frontiers in rehabilitation. Moving forward, they will leverage refined management as a key lever and data analytics as a driving force, focusing intently on advancing specialized techniques within their respective subspecialties, deeply integrating multidisciplinary resources, and creating an integrated service system characterized by “precise assessment, personalized treatment, and comprehensive rehabilitation.” Through these efforts, they aim to deliver more efficient, higher‑quality care to patients, elevate their departments to industry benchmarks, and contribute to the hospital’s early emergence as a leader in rehabilitation.

Amid warm applause, Ge Jiangping, President of Nanjing Zijin Hospital, together with the heads of the various centers, unveiled the plaques marking the official launch of the four major centers. President Ge extended her sincerest gratitude to all colleagues who actively participated in this conference and offered her warmest congratulations to the newly established teams. In her address, she emphasized that the development of subspecialties is a core strategy for the hospital’s high‑quality growth. The inauguration of these four centers represents a significant milestone in Nanjing Zijin Hospital’s ongoing efforts to explore new frontiers and achieve breakthroughs in the field of rehabilitation medicine, and it embodies a concrete step toward realizing the hospital’s vision: “To explore the unknown aspects of life and rebuild the rainbow of health.” She further clarified the significance and missions of each center, charting a clear course for their future development and advancement, and expressed her hope that the multidisciplinary teams will continue to learn, embrace innovation, and consistently enhance both their clinical expertise and service quality—bringing hope to more patients and their families and working together to safeguard the health of the people.

Subsequently, under the watchful eyes of all attendees, the heads of the four major centers, along with Liu Yafeng, director of the Spinal Cord Rehabilitation Department and the Bone and Joint Rehabilitation Department, took to the stage one by one to sign the “Specialty-Specific Development Goals and Responsibilities Agreement” with President Ge Jiangping. This agreement is more than just a formal document—it is a solemn commitment to safeguarding and advancing patients’ lives.

As the conference drew to a close, the atmosphere grew increasingly vibrant. The event then moved into an interactive segment titled “Building the Future of Our Departments Together.” Healthcare professionals from various departments participated in a lottery, each drawing a name to offer heartfelt wishes and warm messages to their chosen department. Amid the lively ambiance, participants deepened their connections and encouraged one another. Every smile and every word of encouragement reflected not only trust and hope but also a shared sense of camaraderie and a resolute commitment to moving forward together.

With the final blessing delivered, the conference concluded successfully. It marks a pivotal step forward for Nanjing Zijin Hospital in advancing refined management of its healthcare system and deepening the development of subspecialties. Looking ahead, the hospital will leverage its four major centers as a solid foundation, pressing ahead with unwavering dedication to further implement and strengthen subspecialty initiatives, striving to deliver more precise, efficient, and high‑quality medical care, and writing a new chapter of excellence in the field of rehabilitation.
