On October 1, 2019, the People’s Republic of China celebrated the 70th anniversary of its founding. Early that morning, Nanjing Zijin Hospital held flag-raising ceremonies simultaneously at both of its campuses. To the solemn strains of the national anthem, medical staff stood in respectful silence as they raised the vibrant national flag and rendered a salute. The flag rose slowly and flew high, igniting patriotic fervor in the hearts of all present.

The 70-year journey of struggle remains vivid in our memories. The medical professionals present today take pride in being part of this endeavor and are keenly aware of the solemn responsibility they bear to safeguard the health of the people. Looking ahead, they will continue to pursue their aspirations, placing patients at the center of their work, relentlessly enhancing patient satisfaction and the overall healthcare experience, staying true to their original mission of saving lives and helping the injured, and doing their utmost to alleviate patients’ suffering, thereby contributing their due share to the edifice of the People’s Republic.
