Our hospital has signed an agreement with Nanjing Brain Hospital to establish a medical consortium.


  On December 23, Nanjing Brain Hospital and Nanjing Zijin Hospital formally signed a cooperation agreement. At the signing and unveiling ceremony, the heads of both institutions jointly stated that the two hospitals will henceforth engage in closer collaboration, establishing a long-term inter-hospital framework for clinical and technical cooperation as well as a tiered system of technical guidance, with the aim of jointly building a medical consortium centered on patients and driven by physicians.

 

Liu Hongyi, President of Nanjing Brain Hospital, and Wang Peidong, President of Nanjing Zijin Hospital, jointly unveiled the plaque for the medical consortium.


  Under the agreement, the scope of cooperation between the two parties primarily encompasses the treatment of critically ill patients in departments such as neurosurgery and neurology, rehabilitation medicine, cardiology, and radiology. Forms of collaboration include inter‑hospital consultations, expert consultations, two‑way referrals, teaching rounds, technical guidance, research collaboration, staff training, and academic lectures and exchanges.


  Nanjing Brain Hospital is currently a public, tertiary‑level specialized hospital with a 70‑year history, and it was one of the earliest national brain‑medicine specialty hospitals in China. Nanjing Zijin Hospital, on the other hand, is a private, non‑profit secondary‑level rehabilitation hospital that has been in operation for 30 years; its primary specialties are cerebral resuscitation and comprehensive hyperbaric oxygen therapy.
  The two institutions enjoy a solid foundation of cooperation in areas such as medical technology and healthcare services. For instance, patients with brain injuries treated at Nanjing Zijin Hospital are often transferred to Nanjing Brain Hospital for surgery; following the procedure, they return to Nanjing Zijin Hospital for comprehensive therapies—including hyperbaric oxygen therapy—and rehabilitation training—this has long been a common model of two-way patient referrals between the two hospitals. Moreover, Nanjing Brain Hospital’s state-of-the-art neuroimaging equipment has previously established a streamlined “green channel” for patients from Nanjing Zijin Hospital, enabling timely diagnostic assessments and allowing physicians to deliver more precise, targeted treatment.

  The head of Nanjing Zijin Hospital stated that this agreement will strengthen cooperation between the two institutions, enabling resource sharing and complementary strengths. “Mutual invitations for multidisciplinary expert consultations and ward rounds will become routine, allowing physicians from both hospitals to focus on maximizing patient mobility while minimizing it. For instance, as our patients progress in rehabilitation, they will now have more convenient access to psychiatric or clinical psychology support. Meanwhile, our hospital’s state-of-the-art hyperbaric oxygen therapy system—among the most advanced in East China—will also be available to patients at Nanjing Brain Hospital. We are confident that, with the assistance of Nanjing Brain Hospital, we will make significant strides in areas such as discipline development.”

  In his address, Yao Hui, Vice President of Nanjing Brain Hospital, stated that this collaboration will leverage the complementary strengths of both parties—namely, their differing levels of technical expertise, service capacity, and research excellence, as well as their respective regional influence—by establishing a specialized alliance through inter‑specialty cooperation. This partnership will adopt a complementary development model, with a particular focus on enhancing the capacity to treat major diseases, while jointly elevating medical technology, clinical research, and the quality of healthcare services, ultimately benefiting a broader patient population.
