Complementary strengths foster research collaboration and drive clinical advancement.

Recently, Nanjing Zijin Hospital organized a delegation of mid-career and young clinical specialists to visit Nanjing Gulou Hospital, where they engaged in in-depth discussions with the neurosurgery team led by Professor Hang Chunhua on collaborative research initiatives. During these exchanges, both parties unanimously agreed to jointly conduct clinical research collaborations focusing on the acute emergency management and subsequent rehabilitation of cerebral hemorrhage and traumatic brain injury.

During their discussions, the two parties jointly identified several research directions and deliberated on the next steps in their scientific research strategy and the associated preparatory work.

The brain rehabilitation treatment center jointly established by both parties was officially inaugurated earlier this year.

The most common conditions treated in the Department of Neurosurgery at Nanjing Gulou Hospital are cerebral hemorrhage and traumatic brain injury, with exceptional expertise in emergency care. Meanwhile, Nanjing Zijin Hospital is a rehabilitation facility that prioritizes the treatment of brain injuries. By collaborating in research and academic pursuits and leveraging their respective strengths, the two institutions will undoubtedly use scientific and scholarly advancements to drive clinical progress, bringing hope to an increasing number of patients requiring emergency care and rehabilitation following brain injury.
