The Health Education Classes at Nanjing Zijin Hospital Have Kicked Off with Great Enthusiasm.

On the afternoon of August 23, the Jiangning Ward of Nanjing Zijin Hospital held a health education session, with participation from some patients, their family members, and nurses. Through an interactive quiz with quick-response questions, every participant—patients, family members, and nursing staff—gained valuable health knowledge.

Health education is an essential component of holistic nursing care and also serves as a therapeutic intervention. Through health education, individuals can gain an understanding of behaviors that impact health and consciously adopt lifestyle choices that promote well-being.

This health education session was held in an open venue, with announcements made 20 days in advance. Nurse‑Director Fan Yinghua served as the presenter and, to maximize engagement, tailored the content and delivery to the shared characteristics of the hospital’s patients. For some patients with limited memory, she incorporated interactive questions after each key point; both patients and their family members responded enthusiastically. One patient, unable to speak due to illness, was encouraged to answer by nodding or shaking his head when prompted. He promptly nodded—his response was correct! When he received a small prize, he leaned forward, his hands trembling; this modest reward brought him immense encouragement.

At Nanjing Zijin Hospital, health education will be conducted on an ongoing basis and delivered in engaging formats, tailored to each patient’s individual health status and disease characteristics, with the aim of promoting both physical and mental well-being.
