Nanjing Zijin Hospital Held a Research Project Proposal Defense Meeting.

To strengthen the hospital’s discipline development and enhance the research and academic capabilities of its medical staff, Nanjing Zijin Hospital held project initiation seminars at its Qinhuai and Jiangning campuses on May 5 and May 7, respectively.

At our hospital’s 2020 key‑work mobilization meeting, strengthening discipline development and academic research was designated as a priority for the year. All medical staff across the hospital enthusiastically submitted applications for research projects; clinical departments at both campuses, along with the hyperbaric oxygen therapy unit, the rehabilitation department, and nursing personnel, collectively submitted 25 proposals covering areas such as clinical research, hospital infection control, pharmacological mechanisms, nursing services, and humanistic care.

At the report session, the principal investigators of each project provided detailed explanations on the research background and significance, the current state of the art, the research approach and methodology, as well as the expected outcomes. Attendees listened attentively to the presentations and, following a Q&A and discussion, expressed strong approval of the research content and proposed plans for each project. They also offered constructive comments and recommendations addressing specific issues raised in the preliminary reports, potential challenges in the subsequent stages of research, and corresponding adjustments to the research strategies. The project applicants stated that they would incorporate these thoughtful suggestions into their research frameworks and conceptual designs, continuously refining and fine-tuning their research plans to ensure high-quality, timely completion of their scholarly projects.

Holding proposal defense meetings is a standardized management practice adopted by our hospital to oversee research projects. It plays a crucial role in strengthening the development of our hospital’s key disciplines and in enhancing the quality of medical services, the level of academic research, and the professional competence of our healthcare staff. At the meeting, Gao Zhiqiang, Executive Vice President of Nanjing Zijin Hospital, emphasized that research projects should be carried out through team collaboration, encouraging cross-departmental and interdisciplinary cooperation, establishing project teams, and bolstering the research workforce.
