On the way home, there is surely the most beautiful scenery in the world.

After more than a month of treatment, Patient Uncle Zhang finally received the doctor’s notice: he could be discharged. From the moment he woke up this morning, he began packing his belongings one by one. He even borrowed a small cart from the nurses’ station, You have to carry your luggage back and forth yourself.

Once, Uncle Zhang longed desperately to return home: He was admitted to the hospital with a severe traumatic brain injury. At the time of his transfer to Nanjing Zijin Hospital, he remained in a comatose state. After regaining consciousness following treatment, he would ask every day when he could go home; during rehabilitation, I always end up walking toward the hospital entrance, too…

On this day, Uncle Zhang’s smile never faded. It was a smile that even a mask couldn’t conceal—starting from the deep coma he fell into upon admission, By the time of discharge, the patient was able to move about freely. There is no trace of illness left on him. For hospitalized patients, “going home” is the most touching word; on the road home, there surely lies the most beautiful scenery in the world.
