Though you are young, you must learn to “fear.”

Three months ago, Xiaoming fell into a coma due to a sudden cerebral thrombosis and was transferred to Nanjing Zijin Hospital. In the minds of most people, only the elderly are prone to cerebral thrombosis. Yet Xiaoming, who is just 14 years old, has unexpectedly developed this condition. It came as a great surprise to his family.

Xiaoming is a student. He has a robust physique. With no family history of illness, why did he develop a cerebral thrombosis at such a young age? After reviewing his medical records, the attending physician concluded that his irregular sleep schedule was likely a major contributing factor. During discussions with Xiaoming’s family, it was revealed that he habitually stayed up late and woke up early. Often gets less than 5 hours of sleep per day.

After three months of active treatment, Xiaoming can stand on his own and is largely self-sufficient in daily life. Recently, he has been reviewing his schoolwork in his hospital room. We look forward to returning to campus soon. Experts remind that adolescents should also pay attention to vascular health and adopt healthy lifestyle habits. Even at a young age, it’s important to learn to “exercise caution” and stay vigilant in order to keep disease at bay.

(Throughout the text, “Xiaoming” is a pseudonym.)
