In response to the call of the “World Coma Day—Hope for Awakening” event, jointly organized by the Disorders of Consciousness Branch of the Chinese Society for Neuroscience, the Traumatic Brain Injury Rehabilitation Committee of the Chinese Association of Rehabilitation Medicine, and the Coma and Wake‑Promotion Group of the Neurorepair Branch of the Chinese Medical Association, on March 22, experts in coma and consciousness research, neurocritical care, and neurological rehabilitation from Beijing, Shanghai, Nanjing, and other cities held a series of specialized lectures and academic discussions—primarily via online video conferencing—focusing on the latest advances in the diagnosis, treatment, and basic research of brain‑injury‑related coma and disorders of consciousness.

　　Leading experts have gathered to engage in spirited intellectual discourse online. The series of events marking “World Coma Day” has provided a platform for clinical physicians and researchers to exchange ideas and spark innovative thinking, while also helping to encourage medical institutions and healthcare professionals to strengthen scientific diagnosis and clinical research, thereby elevating the standard of care for patients with coma and disorders of consciousness. Participants have also enthusiastically produced short videos featuring the theme and slogan of the second “World Coma Day,” disseminating them widely to call on society at large to show concern, compassion, and support for individuals living with coma and disorders of consciousness.

　　To this day, Nanjing Zijin Hospital continues to pioneer advances in the treatment of coma and disorders of consciousness, establishing research collaborations with teams led by Professor Di Haibo of Hangzhou Normal University, Professor Chen Zuobing of the First Affiliated Hospital of Zhejiang University, Professor Lu Xiao of Jiangsu Provincial People’s Hospital, and Professor Hang Chunhua of Nanjing Gulou Hospital, among others. By fostering multidisciplinary partnerships, the hospital aims to refine and further advance its therapeutic approaches, thereby supporting more patients with disorders of consciousness and their families.
