On the morning of October 14, the Nanjing Nursing Society’s Rehabilitation Nursing Specialized Committee held a knowledge competition and academic symposium in the Academic Lecture Hall of Nanjing Zijin Hospital. Attending the event were Chen Xiangyu, President of the Nanjing Nursing Society; Ni Xinxin, Secretary-General; Chen Lu, Chairperson of the Rehabilitation Nursing Specialized Committee of the Nanjing Nursing Society and Deputy Director of the Nursing Department at Gulou Hospital, along with key rehabilitation nursing professionals from various medical institutions across Nanjing.

　　Ge Jiangping, President of Nanjing Zijin Hospital, extended a warm welcome to the experts, quiz contestants, and other key rehabilitation and nursing professionals attending the event. She provided a brief overview of the hospital’s development history, its talent pipeline, physical infrastructure, departmental specialties, and future prospects.

　　Prior to the start of the knowledge competition, Chen Lu, Chairperson of the Rehabilitation Nursing Professional Committee of the Nanjing Nursing Society, and Ni Xinxin, Secretary-General of the Nanjing Nursing Society, each delivered remarks. They commended Nanjing Zijin Hospital for its achievements in the field of critical care rehabilitation nursing and encouraged all participants, expressing their hope that they would demonstrate professional excellence and attain outstanding results.

　　The event was hosted by Nurse Supervisor Zhang Lingxia of Nanjing First Hospital. The 12 contestants were divided into three groups to compete. In the first round, a mandatory‑question segment, each contestant took turns answering with confidence; in the second round, a buzzer‑quiz phase, they vied fiercely for answers, showcasing a spirited drive to outdo one another.

　　Through a spirited competition, the event ultimately awarded three first-place prizes, four second-place prizes, and five third-place prizes. This knowledge contest showcased the solid professional expertise of rehabilitation nursing leaders from various medical institutions, while also deepening participants’ understanding and appreciation of rehabilitation nursing principles and technical knowledge.

　　At the subsequent academic symposium, Chairperson Chen Xiangyu delivered a presentation titled “The New Development Philosophy Ushers in a New Era for Emergency Nursing—Popularizing Emergency Nursing Education,” in which she thoroughly expounded on the necessity of making emergency medical skills widely accessible to the public.

　　Nurse Manager Yang Bei from the Department of Rehabilitation Medicine at Nanjing First Hospital and Nurse Manager Yang Chunhua from the Nanjing Hospital of Integrated Traditional Chinese and Western Medicine each presented on “Nutritional Care for Patients in the Rehabilitation Department” and “Prevention and Management of Cervical Spondylosis,” respectively, highlighting the key challenges and critical issues in rehabilitation nursing and sharing relevant care protocols.

　　At the conclusion of the briefing, Dr. Ge Jiangping, President of Nanjing Zijin Hospital, together with the heads of various departments, escorted the experts and attendees on a tour of the hospital campus, facilitating an exchange of insights and experiences in areas such as hospital management, campus planning, and departmental development. The visitors highly praised our hospital’s ward environment and its subspecialties—including the Spinal Cord Injury Rehabilitation Department, the Bone and Joint Rehabilitation Department, the Cardiopulmonary Rehabilitation Department, and the Neurological Rehabilitation Department—and conducted an in-depth visit to our Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy Center.

　　During this event, participants reinforced and enhanced their expertise in rehabilitation nursing through competitive activities. The experts’ lectures—truly a “feast” of knowledge—were clearly focused, highlighted key points, offered practical guidance, and were highly relevant to real-world practice, yielding substantial benefits for all attendees. Participants unanimously agreed that holding such an event on the eve of the 20th National Congress of the Communist Party of China made it all the more meaningful. They pledged to remain true to their original aspirations, keep their mission firmly in mind, and, under the leadership and guidance of the Health Commission and the Nursing Association, accelerate the development of rehabilitation nursing services, thereby contributing their share to the cause of public health.
