In the most beautiful season of the year, Nanjing Zijin Hospital held a gratitude celebration marking its 35th anniversary.

　　Though the gathering may be delayed—after all, 2022 marked the hospital’s 35th anniversary—it will certainly not be missed. Experts and professors from across the country—including Beijing Tiantan Hospital, Beijing Chaoyang Hospital, Shanghai Huashan Hospital, Shanghai Xinhua Hospital, Shenzhen People’s Hospital, the First Affiliated Hospital of Zhejiang University, Hangzhou Normal University, Chengdu Third People’s Hospital, Lanzhou University Second Hospital, the Chinese Journal of Naval Medicine and Hyperbaric Medicine, the First Affiliated Hospital of Nanjing Medical University, Nanjing Gulou Hospital, the General Hospital of the Eastern Theater Command, Zhongda Hospital affiliated with Southeast University, Nanjing Brain Hospital, Yifu Hospital affiliated with Nanjing Medical University, and the Jiangsu Provincial Association of Privately Operated Medical Institutions—as well as all the staff of Nanjing Zijin Hospital, gathered together at the Silver City Crown Hotel.

　　Since the establishment of the Navy Cerebrovascular Disease Rehabilitation Center—the predecessor of Nanjing Zijin Hospital—in 1987, through its successful restructuring in 2002 and multiple relocations, the hospital has grown from three rows of small single-story buildings at Maqun Naval Medical School to a three‑story inpatient building by Yueya Lake, and today operates two campuses in Jiangning and Qinhuai. From just over a dozen beds to more than 300 today, it has also become Nanjing’s first tertiary‑level rehabilitation hospital. Over the past 35 years, with the support of all, Nanjing Zijin Hospital has forged ahead fearlessly, reaping abundant rewards along the way. Prior to the event, guests and hospital staff jointly watched an introductory video showcasing the hospital’s image.

　　Zhu Mingzhi, Secretary-General of the Jiangsu Provincial Association of Privately-Run Medical Institutions, delivered a speech at the gala. He stated that the 35 years since Nanjing Zijin Hospital’s founding have been a period of overcoming hardships while strengthening resolve, maintaining unwavering confidence and forging ahead, as well as a time of pioneering spirit, continuous progress, and steady growth. He expressed the hope that all staff members would take the hospital’s 35th anniversary as a new starting point, remain firmly committed to the patient-centered service philosophy, and continue to uphold the principle of “revitalizing the hospital through science and technology,” thereby delivering tangible benefits to the broader public.

At the gala, all the guests jointly witnessed several momentous occasions at Nanjing Zijin Hospital.

　　 The first joyous occasion: At the sincere invitation of Nanjing Zijin Hospital, Li Jian’an, an International Member of the U.S. National Academy of Medicine and Honorary Dean of the School of Rehabilitation Medicine at Nanjing Medical University, has been appointed as a Consultant in Rehabilitation Medicine at Nanjing Zijin Hospital.

　　 The second joyous occasion: The Rehabilitation Medicine Center of Jiangsu Provincial People’s Hospital, highly regarded in China’s rehabilitation medicine community, has established a specialized alliance with Nanjing Zijin Hospital.

　　 The third joyous occasion: The Zhongda Hospital affiliated with Southeast University and Nanjing Zijin Hospital have signed a technical cooperation agreement.

　　We are confident that, under the guidance and support of Academician Li, and through our collaboration with the Rehabilitation Medicine Center of Jiangsu Provincial People’s Hospital and the Zhongda Hospital affiliated to Southeast University, Nanjing Zijin Hospital will achieve even more remarkable progress in both its academic development and its medical services.

　　At the event, staff from Nanjing Zijin Hospital also thoughtfully prepared a variety of performances, including a rousing chorus of the hospital anthem, the Chinese‑style dance “Left Finger Points to the Moon,” military‑style boxing, and an original song‑and‑dance routine titled “Rehabilitation Front Alliance,” among others—each one more captivating than the last.

Thirty-five years of trials and tribulations have nurtured golden days.
