Good news has come from Zhejiang!

Wang Chao, head therapist at the Qinhuai Branch of our hospital’s Rehabilitation Therapy Center, earned second place in the 4th “Neuroscience and Rehabilitation Excellence Award—Neurocritical and Subcritical Organ Rehabilitation and Repair” speech competition.

This speech competition was held at the Neurosciences Society’s Neural Repair and Rehabilitation Branch during the 10th Zhejiang Provincial Conference on Neurotrauma, Critical Care, and Regeneration in 2023. The conference was organized by the Neurorepair Specialty Committee of the Zhejiang Provincial Physicians Association. Numerous contestants from major hospitals took part in the event, which served as both a fiercely contested contest and a vibrant forum for exchange and knowledge sharing.

During the case‑presentation segment of the competition, contestant Wang Chao, under the title “Precision Rehabilitation: Helping You Escape Excruciating Pain,” examined the therapeutic efficacy of ultrasound‑guided precision injections for shoulder pain in hemiplegic patients. By systematically outlining the study’s background, methodology, and findings, he highlighted the clinical research outcomes and the broader value of this technique in clinical practice and its potential for widespread adoption.

During the expert commentary session, the reviewers expressed keen interest in this technology and underscored the practical significance of translating these research findings into clinical applications. Its rapid onset of action, precise targeting, and low cost are expected to alleviate patient pain, reduce the financial burden of medical care, and enhance patients’ quality of life.

This case‑presentation competition brought together disciplines including neurology, rehabilitation medicine, radiology, and basic research. From young physicians sharing their cases to seasoned experts offering in‑depth guidance and commentary, the academic exchange unfolded in a progressively deeper and more insightful manner, delivering rich, practical content and a series of compelling presentations.

The team at Nanjing Zijin Hospital will continue to stay attuned to industry trends, uphold a commitment to scientific research and innovation, and promptly update diagnostic and treatment technologies, thereby consistently meeting patients’ increasingly diverse healthcare needs, further enhancing their clinical experience, and elevating the quality of medical services.
