The 32nd National Conference on Hyperbaric Oxygen Medicine of the Chinese Medical Association was grandly held in Chengdu, China, from October 12 to 14, 2023.

　　This conference was co-hosted by the Chinese Medical Association and the Hyperbaric Oxygen Medicine Branch of the Chinese Medical Association. The opening ceremony was chaired by Professor Long Ying, Chairperson of the Hyperbaric Oxygen Medicine Branch of the Chinese Medical Association, and attended by Mr. Wang Dafang, Deputy Secretary-General of the Chinese Medical Association, who delivered a speech.

Interdisciplinary integration, safeguarding life, win-win outcomes for doctors and patients, and collaborative development.

　　This conference brought together more than 500 experts, scholars, and related professionals from across the country who are engaged in hyperbaric oxygen medicine. The program featured a Brain Resuscitation Forum, a Quality Control Forum, and a specialized training session on “Recent Advances in Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy at Home and Abroad and Its Applications in Cognitive Dysfunction,” along with 164 peer-reviewed paper presentations and 37 plenary talks.

　　On October 13, Director Liu Yafeng of Nanjing Zijin Hospital presented “The Clinical Application of the Persistent Vegetative State Scale from Nanjing, China, in Patients with Acute Disorders of Consciousness” at the Brain Resuscitation Forum and chaired the forum’s second session. Directors Gao Hongliang and Pan Xingming respectively delivered presentations titled “The Effects of Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy Combined with Transcranial Ultrasound on Neuroelectrophysiological Parameters in Patients with Chronic Disorders of Consciousness” and “An Observational Study on the Wake‑Promoting Efficacy of Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy Combined with Audiovisual‑Electrical Stimulation in Patients with Traumatic Brain Injury–Related Disorders of Consciousness.”

　　Following the conclusion of the Brain Resuscitation Forum, the conference invited President Ge Jiangping of Nanjing Zijin Hospital to deliver a welcoming address and speak.

　　At the main venue of the conference on October 14, Gao Zhiqiang, Executive Vice President of Nanjing Zijin Hospital, presented an overview of the China–Nanjing Consciousness Recovery Scale, providing attendees with a deeper understanding of its development and applications.

　　The closing ceremony of the conference was chaired by Professor Yang Jing, the incoming chairperson of the Hyperbaric Oxygen Medicine Branch of the Chinese Medical Association. Professor Zhou Hongtu, the secretary of the branch, delivered a summary addressing the number of attendees, the geographic distribution of participants, and the submissions of papers.

　　The conference received a total of 164 papers, of which 33 were submitted by Nanjing Zijin Hospital, accounting for 20.1% of the overall submissions. There were 37 oral presentations, with Nanjing Zijin Hospital contributing 4, or 10.8% of the total. Director Liu Yafeng was elected as the deputy leader of the Brain Resuscitation Group under the 10th Professional Committee of the Hyperbaric Oxygen Medicine Branch of the Chinese Medical Association.
