In accordance with the latest requirements for COVID‑19 prevention and control in Nanjing City and the directives outlined in Document No. 16 (2021) issued by the Medical Treatment Group of the Jiangsu Provincial Leading Group for COVID‑19 Prevention and Control, and in order to further strengthen our hospital’s epidemic prevention and control efforts, effectively enhance preventive measures at medical institutions, prevent nosocomial cross‑infection, and ensure the safety of hospitalized patients, their families, and all hospital staff, we hereby announce the following updated requirements for epidemic prevention and control at our hospital:

I. Pre-screening Triage and Access Control

During the epidemic prevention and control period, hospitals prohibit visitors and vehicles from entering. Personnel who must enter the hospital campus for work purposes shall strictly comply with pre-screening and triage requirements: they must wear masks properly, have their temperature taken, present their health code and travel history, and confirm that they have no epidemiological risk factors; only those who meet these criteria will be permitted to enter the campus.

II. Management of New Patients and Their Accompaniers

1. Routine admission procedures are temporarily suspended. For cases requiring special arrangements, patients must properly wear a mask, have their temperature taken, present their health code, provide travel history information and confirm the absence of epidemiological risk factors, and hold a negative nucleic acid test report issued within 48 hours before hospitalization can be processed.

2. During hospitalization, in principle, only one caregiver is permitted, and the caregiver should remain relatively consistent. If a change of caregiver is genuinely necessary due to specific circumstances, the new caregiver must present a negative nucleic acid test result issued within 48 hours, demonstrate exclusion of any epidemiological risk factors, and sign a commitment letter. Visits are not allowed during the patient’s stay; we encourage virtual visits via telephone, WeChat, video calls, or other similar methods.

3. Both patients and accompanying caregivers must practice strict personal protection measures. Caregivers must wear masks at all times, and patients may not leave their wards without authorization during their hospital stay (except for necessary examinations). When leaving the ward for examinations, patients must wear masks, wash their hands frequently, avoid gatherings, refrain from visiting other rooms, and abstain from smoking. If you develop fever or respiratory symptoms, please inform the ward’s medical staff promptly.

III. Management of Discharged Patients

Regular discharge procedures are temporarily suspended. For special cases requiring discharge, the in‑hospital caregiver shall handle the process. If there is no in‑hospital caregiver or other exceptional circumstances, only one person may enter the hospital grounds to complete discharge formalities, provided they wear a mask properly, have their temperature checked, present their health code and travel history, and furnish a negative nucleic acid test report issued within 48 hours, with epidemiological history ruled out. Such individuals will be restricted to the finance department and prohibited from entering patient wards. Except for official “120” and “962120” vehicles, all other vehicles are forbidden from entering.
